D.C.-Based Law Firm Werner Ahari Mangel Expands Footprint with Addition of Offices in Chicago, Dallas, New York City, and Philadelphia—Strengthening Reach and Capabilities to Serve Insurers Nationwide

Werner Ahari Mangel, a Washington, D.C.-based boutique law firm representing insurers nationwide in complex and high-exposure insurance coverage matters, has opened offices in Chicago, Dallas, New York City, and Philadelphia, expanding its ability to serve insurers across the United States.

The addition of these four offices bolsters Werner Ahari Mangel’s ability to meet growing client demand for sophisticated and efficient insurance coverage litigation counsel in major jurisdictions nationwide.

Since its founding in 2023, the firm has grown to 27 attorneys, expanding its reach and capabilities to better serve clients. In addition to District of Columbia, Illinois, New York, Pennsylvania, and Texas, the firm has attorneys admitted to practice in California, Delaware, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, and Virginia. The firm will continue to represent insurers in litigation in states in which it does not have offices with the assistance of local counsel.

“While we have long handled coverage litigation in jurisdictions across the country, this expansion allows us to represent clients in litigation in Illinois, New York, Pennsylvania, and Texas directly, without the use of local counsel, as we already do in the District of Columbia, Virginia, and Maryland from our Washington office,” said Joseph A. Bailey III, the firm’s managing partner. “We take pride in our deep relationships with leading insurance companies across the nation, and expanding our physical presence strengthens our commitment to providing excellent service, allowing us to work as a truly integrated team with our clients, wherever their needs arise.”

In addition to serving as coverage and monitoring counsel for clients, Werner Ahari Mangel serves as litigation counsel in state and federal courts at the trial and appellate levels. The firm’s attorneys have decades of experience litigating and monitoring claims that arise under the full spectrum of policies issued by its clients, including policies providing coverage for D&O liability, E&O liability, financial institution liability, private equity and portfolio company liability, transactional risk (representations and warranties), employment practice liability, fiduciary liability, cyber liability, and liability under fidelity bonds. The firm also defends insurers in bad faith litigation. Its attorneys have been elected to the prestigious American College of Coverage Counsel and are recognized as leading lawyers for insurers throughout the industry and by Chambers USA. A majority women-owned firm, Werner Ahari Mangel is built on a foundation of trust, innovation, and a commitment to excellence, with an inclusive and flexible work culture that supports attorneys across a range of work arrangements.
